Understanding Your Home Warranty

In an earlier blog we discussed the basics of the Structural Warranty. (What is a Structural Warranty )
Now we will dive a little deeper to help you understand exactly what is covered by your Structural Warranty. The 15-year Structural Warranty offered by SeaGate Homes through 2-10 Home Builders Warranty is actually three warranty’s in one: A one-year Workmanship Warranty, a two-year Systems Warranty and the 15-year Structural Defect Warranty.
Think of your home like the body, on the surface, there is the skin, internally you have the systems that keep things running, and holding it all up is the structure or bones. The three sections of the warranty help protect these areas.

The skin or surface of your home is the part you see every day, and the place you may notice issues first. SeaGate Homes works hard to uphold the highest standards of workmanship but if problems do arise, the Workmanship Warranty will cover defects to items such as doors, cabinets, countertops, flooring, roofinlg, finishes, drywall, paint, trim, windows, insulation, grills, and thermostats for up to one year after the closing date of your new home.

Under the surface are the internal workings of your home, from pipes to wiring to ductwork, the Systems Warranty protects the electrical and mechanical systems in your home. The Systems Warranty is effective for two years from the date you close on your new SeaGate home.

The final piece of the warranty covers the bones of your home such as beams, girders, roof and floor framing, load-bearing walls, and foundation. SeaGate Homes offers an industry-leading 15-year structural warranty that offers coverage for defective structural elements, affected surfaces and finishes resulting from subcontractor error, material failure or soil movement. The structure of your home is what holds it all together and needs to stand the test of time, which is why it has the longest amount of insurance-backed coverage.
